San Francisco Veterans Supportive Housing Transforms Lives and the Community

CSH was literally “in on the ground floor” of the Stanford Hotel/250 Kearny project in San Francisco, providing technical assistance in the early stages of this development. Featured in the San Francisco Chronicle for revitalizing an eyesore and neighborhood, 250 Kearny has been transformed by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office, San Francisco Human Services Agency, San Francisco Housing Authority, San Francisco Veterans Administration, and the San Francisco HUD Regional Office from a “horror show” property into 130 new, clean, safe supportive housing units for homeless veterans.

Not only does 250 Kearny help beautify its surroundings, it brings San Francisco within reach of its goal to end veteran homelessness in the community. CSH technical assistance provided guidance for the use of HUD-VASH for the 250 Kearny master lease component. We also provided training support to the Homes for Heroes Work Group, concentrating on CSH’s “Moving On” initiatives.
