Healthcare Vote Delayed

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announces a delay in Senate healthcare vote until after July 4th holiday recess.

The U.S. Senate has delayed a vote on a bill to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act until after Congress returns from its Fourth of July recess.

CSH welcomes this development. We have been urging Senators to give their constituents, states, stakeholders and advocates sufficient time to review the draft legislation before proceeding to a vote so that the full impact of the proposal may be understood by the American people. CSH also is on record opposing any effort that could harm Medicaid beneficiaries residing in supportive housing or roll back expansion of coverage.

CSH Can Use Your Help

If you have not done so already, please reach out to your two U.S. Senators today and urge them to vote against the Senate proposal that could jeopardize health coverage for millions of Americans. Ask them specifically to vote “NO” on the current Senate bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

During the Independence Day recess, Senators will be in their states and some may even hold Town Hall meetings. Call your Senators, email them or try to get a meeting (or attend one). There is now time to make your voice heard. The Senate will not take up this bill until after they return to Washington, DC on July 10.

Thank you for joining with CSH in registering your opposition to this legislation!
