Advocating for Statewide Policy & Legislation Changes
Working with state leaders and policy-makers is a great opportunity to drive systems change and scale programmatic successes. Join us for the State Policy 101 pre-summit workshop to identify program and policy overlays and opportunities to leverage policy changes in your community and state.

Site Visit 1

MEETING PLACE AND DIRECTIONS EVENT CENTER DRIVE (From the JW Marriott Lobby or Guestrooms) Event Center Drive is located on the 1st floor of the hotel as part of the hotel’s private White River Ballroom section. Attendees can take any lobby or guestroom elevator or escalator to the 2nd floor. Once on the 2nd floor, walk around Starbucks to proceed down the Griffin Hall Foyer (this foyer is located along windows that face Victory Field). Half way down the foyer, take an escalator down to the White River Ballroom level. Once on the White River Ballroom level, turn left in the foyer and proceed to the end of the foyer and around the corner to Event Center Drive (glass doors).

Supportive housing plays a pivotal role nationally in ending and preventing homelessness among our Veterans. This success is found in Indiana too. Join us for a tour of supportive housing in Indianapolis designed to keep Veterans housed, healthy and thriving, and also a presentation showcasing a project from another part of the state. Immediately following, participants will come together with the group from Site Visit 2 to hear from scattered-site supportive housing providers.

Non-profit developers create supportive housing in Indiana and throughout the country. This Site Visit will explore their unique role and include a tour of an integrated supportive, affordable and market rate development located in Indianapolis. Participants also will interact with representatives from another project in the state. This tour moves to its second phase when participants meet up with the group from Site Visit 1 to learn what it takes to make scattered-site supportive housing work.

Successful Supervision Equals Staff Retention
Participants will learn from the trainers and each other how to increase staff satisfaction, morale, build a sense of team, create an equitable environment and lower turnover rates. Hiring and onboarding also will be tackled.

Supportive Housing Development 101
Part 1 – The Fundamentals: Participants will gain a clear understanding of the models and six key components that make up supportive housing as well as knowledge of CSH’s Dimensions of Quality Supportive Housing. Part 2 – Roll Up Your Sleeves: Designed for providers new to development and experienced developers new to supportive housing. Topics include: Financing, Building Community Support, Partnerships, and Assessment of Readiness. Follow a project from initial concept through to construction, and lease up.

Supportive Housing Services 101
Part 1 – The Fundamentals: Participants will walk away with a clear understanding of the models and six key components that make up supportive housing as well as knowledge of CSH’s Dimensions of Quality Supportive Housing. Part 2 – The Delivery: Interactive session focused on designing supportive services, building relationships of trust, coordinating service delivery with outside partners, and working with property management partners to ensure tenants maintain their housing.

System Modeling to a Comprehensive Response for Youth & Young Adults
Learn concrete strategies for facilitating an interactive community-wide process that empowers youth and young adults and system partners to map pathways out of youth homelessness while estimating the resources needed to build such pathways.

The Rural Supportive Housing Challenge
Developing Supportive Housing in rural communities takes creativity, commitment and extensive partnerships. This is a highly interactive session where participants will walk through the steps and nuances of creating quality supportive housing in rural communities.
