62% Reduction in Chronic Homelessness Seen in Ohio

CSH heartily congratulates the Cleveland/Cuyahoga County Housing First initiative and all of its partners on the county’s 62% reduction in chronic homelessness since the initiative began.

In 2003 during the very early days of the Housing First initiative, CSH collaborated with The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and the local Continuum of Care lead by the Cleveland/Cuyahoga Office of Homeless Services  to lay the groundwork for the multi-year financial plan to develop 1,000 units of supportive housing. With continued support and leadership from Enterprise and the Sisters of Charity Foundation, the plan is being implemented with strong partners, beautiful buildings, integrated communities and great success.
