Webinar: Strengthening the CHW Workforce

Community health workers and peer specialists, as frontline health representatives, are trusted members of the community able to leverage their health knowledge and understanding of the community to provide vital services and connections to health and community resources.  Their diverse roles in outreach, screening, education, counseling, social supports, and advocacy contribute significantly to improving health outcomes in the community. Participants in this most recent webinar shared best practices to increase hiring and supports to advance this ‘voice of lived experience’ among the CHW and Peer workforce in the effort to connect the community to health and related social determinant of health resources. CSH, along with our training partners National Healthcare for the Homeless Council and MHP Salud have created a library of resources to highlight this vital role of Community Health Workers and Peers.
